I know two places that many people can retrieve “found” money just for asking. Hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Usually tax free. It’s perfectly legal, it’s your money, it’s held by the government and they’re (very) patiently waiting for you to simply ask for it.
If you’ll stay at any chain hotel or motel, apply online ahead of time for their free ‘frequent visitor’ card. You don’t have to carry the card, just store your account number in your cellphone.
